Context

Admins can set spend policies requiring receipts for every transaction — but without a mobile upload option, users are forced to transfer photos or switch devices just to log an expense. The result is delayed uploads, lost receipts, and incomplete records.


By bringing receipt capture directly into the Mercury mobile app with automatic transaction matching, users can log expenses in the moment — eliminating the friction and keeping records accurate.

Role

I led design for this project end-to-end, partnering directly with our staff iOS engineer. A key outcome was creating Mercury's first "island" component — a reusable UI pattern that has since been adopted across multiple experiences in the app.
